Tom Pavlinic, Esq.
Based in Maryland, Tom Pavlinic is recognized as one of the nation’s top sex crimes defense attorneys and assists clients nationwide when a "big gun" attorney is needed. With 37 years of experience under his belt, he has served as lead counsel in criminal cases from coast to coast. He has become an attorney whose services are now highly sought after not just by clients but by other defense attorneys who recognize his ability to turn the tide on the most challenging defense cases.

Since graduating from George Washington University, Tom has proven himself as an extremely effective defender of the accused and a powerful force in the courtroom. He has successfully argued in front of the Supreme Courts of Pennsylvania and Kansas, as well as submitting Amicus Curiae briefs that were accepted by the Supreme Courts of Texas, Rhode Island, Alabama, Tennessee, Illinois, Georgia, Wisconsin, New Hampshire and California.

Tom’s expertise in sexual criminal defense, particularly in crimes involving children, have resulted in his admission at both the trial and appellate level in 17 states. In fact, Tom obtained a reversal of a child sexual abuse conviction at the Kansas Supreme Court that resulted in the case being dismissed when remanded for trial. He also successfully raised the issue of suggestibility on the testimony of minor children as a matter of first impression at the Pennsylvania Supreme Court.

Despite the large volume of cases Tom has handled over many years, he has never once been the subject of a bar complaint in any jurisdiction. His unblemished reputation and his outstanding references from clients and fellow lawyers is a reflection of his extreme skill and integrity.

Tom served as Amicus Curiae counsel for the False Memory Syndrome Foundation. Tom's mission and passion are his representation of those falsely accused of child sexual abuse. He is a member of the Bars of the United States District Court for the District of Maryland, the State of Maryland and the United States Court of Appeals for the 4th Circuit.
